21 Mar

Today is Wednesday. I have had no coffee since Sunday. I’ve been drinking mostly green tea with a little black tea thrown in when I need it. So far so good. I have to say, I’m a little surprised that I don’t feel worse but I guess that’s what “ween” process is all about.

Yesterday, I got up at 5AM, had a cup of green tea and then headed to the pool for my swim workout at 6. Made it through the swim with no issues. Lucky for me, I happen to work right next door to the pool. I know, it’s a rough life down here in Swampland. So I’ve decided that instead of going home until my first class at 11AM, I’ll just stay on campus and hold my office hours between 7AM-10:45. Evil. I know. I had one more cup of green tea and sorta cruised through the next 12 hours. I was no more tired at 2PM than I ever was with coffee in my system.

Today, I got up at 5:30AM for a 6:30AM ride. 45 minutes always turns into 60-90 minutes on Tuesdays. Mostly because I bike down to the meeting spot and then bike back. So I tack on that extra 22 minute to my workout time. On the way back from the group meeting spot, I mentioned to one of my teammates/neighbors, that I felt like going for a little run. I missed the Monday recovery run and I was really unhappy with my bike to run transition in the last race. Something I wanted to work on before Nautica. She wanted to join me so we dropped off our bikes and reconvened and ran for about 35 minutes. We kept the pace nice and easy so it felt good. I downed two full scoops of R4 after our impromptu brick and I was doing fine.

Then my computer died.

So I finally get to the point where I don’t feel like crashing every five minutes and my computer finally crashes instead. Sigh. I knew it was coming. It’s been coming for the last three years. I’ve been using my trusty IBook G4 since 2005. SEVEN YEARS. It’s been good to me. But lately, it’s been slowing down and overheating and today, poor thing, it went home.

This is not a sexy post. Sorry. But there are several new multiviews on the way so look out for those soon!

Ah, the computer crash. I hate it when that happens.
